Krishna Janmasthami time...

Done my first drive to Bheemeshwari... it was ideal location with only 100 kms off from Bangalore and nice roads. Though last 20 km were painful and made sure that it sharpens my driving skill a lot more.

Wonderful location and with Cauvery flowing in full force it was all the more fun.

Vodafone Cycling Marathon

Participated for the first time in organized cycling event. With almost zero cycling done in last 6 month, decided to opt for the least available distance of 10km fun ride. Due to traffic and some other constraint, organizers had to re-route the entire direction of fun ride and ended up with mere 8km ride. No regrets though, as I was able to complete my 30km ride for the day... reaching and coming back to home from venue itself was 22km.. :)

Overall it was really nicely organized with lot of cyclist attending it...

Here's few cyclist promoting the Go Green...

Me with my Btwin RockRider 5.0

The bonus was to meet one of my old colleague almost after 6 years...

By the way, did you see who is on the stage?? It was live performance by Indian Ocean... super cool music.

Some more enthusiastic riders..

Overall fun... hoping to continue riding now...

The Lego Movie

Finally today, we decided to take Param for his first movie hall experience. Reason being, it was the Lego movie.. which is his current favorite.

To top it up, it was a 3D movie... so it was more fun for Param to play with glasses rather than watching movie.

As expected, his patience ran out after an hour or so... so it was time to move out of the hall and roam around in the area. So don't ask me about how was the movie... as most of the time spent during that 1 hr 40 mins was trying to make him seat, stop him from breaking the glasses (though he successfully broke one), ensuring popcorn are not spilled on the floor and lastly catching him while he was running outside the hall in lobby area.

Alas! I realized, it will still take another year or so before he starts enjoying the movie.

Sports Day

It was Param's first Sports Day today. While we had our fingers crossed, doubting whether he will participate even or no, with us being in his vicinity.

He did surprised us by not only participating in both jump running and crawling caterpillar race... but getting 1st and 2nd spot respectively in both the race.

Param with his new buddy Sreyansh

Should I stand in queue or sit with Mom & Dad?

Param - You are not suppose to hold the flag.. go back in queue

At race position.. right in the middle with Dad behind to motivate

Param's first medal

Congratulations Param on getting your very first medal... :)

PS Param - Your mom had given you the incentive of your current favorite Oreo biscuits and chocolate, if you participate itself.

Lalbagh Republic Day Flower Show 2014

It was time to visit the 199th flower show at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, which is done every year on the eve of Republic day. In fact, this time event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Horticulture Dept. You can see that in special flower decor done to mark that event.

Also the theme of this year was fruits & vegetables...  The flowers include Zerbaras, Coranatio, Anthurium, Bromiliares, Petunia, Coxcomb, Seleucia, Helichrysum, etc.

Other attractions at the show was mushrooms designed in flower.

The dept has also come up with a logo: an 18-foot tall & 6-foot wide floral pillar made of various kinds of flowers.

and obviously to welcome there was horticulture favorite representatives..

and as always... Param did really enjoy...

Here's flag made of rice to mark the very purpose for which the event is done... Republic Day...

Overall good show but as always, complemented with heavy crowd. So be prepared for some pushing around and taking those quick shots before police around asks you to keep moving... ;)
